This sculptural series is the outcome of exploration of the possibilities of my sculptural process.  This particular exploration was, basically, three-dimensional doodling; the form and coloration the result of a judicious application of all these processes.

 

Most of my work is much larger - linear, and table-top or life-sized.   That work, being very labor-intensive, and copper, as a semi-precious metal being fairly costly, this series consists of sculptures that are smaller, more affordable and accessible to the consumer art market - original art, accessible to smaller collectors. 

 

As always, my sculptures are primarily recycled and repurposed copper.  In this series, I can reproduce with similar contours and surface details; the chromatics are less replicable.  Each and every sculpture is unique.

 

Each vertical element in this series is like a tiny monolith.  As such, I have termed the elements 'Lyths.'
